Goodbye Faithful One
Beneath a weeping sky, with arrows buried deep and her last breaths slipping into the cold, she pressed her trembling hand against the face of the steed who had carried her through a thousand battles. "Oh, my faithful friend," she whispered, resting her brow against his. "You have carried me as far as you can. I must go to him now." And though her heart ached to leave the last soul who loved her upon this earth, she smiled through her tears. For somewhere beyond the stars, the man she had begged the heavens to return was waiting. "Do not grieve for me, sweet one. I am only going where my heart has been all along."
